Mentor Certification

Become a Certified KidGeeniers Mentor

KidGeeniers is not a box of activities — it is a method. Certification is how we make sure the adult in the room knows how to run it: one foundation, then one certification for every tier you teach.

Why it matters

We certify the adult, not just the activity

A screenless STEM session lives or dies on facilitation. The same activity can build a child’s reasoning or simply fill an hour. The difference is a mentor who knows why the activity exists, what it is developing, and what to do when a child gets stuck.

The method is the product

F3 — the Foundational Future Framework — is the pedagogical engine behind every KidGeeniers session. Certification is how a mentor learns to use it deliberately instead of by instinct.

Children are not one audience

A seven-year-old and a thirteen-year-old do not learn the same way. Each tier has its own cognitive profile, and each one demands a different kind of facilitation.

Quality has to travel

More than 16,000 children across Mexico, the United States, Peru and Colombia. Certification is what keeps the experience consistent wherever it is delivered.

How the path works

Everything starts with one foundation

Every mentor starts in the same place. From there, you certify in the tiers you actually teach.

Foundation — F3 Practitioner

The entry certification, and the only one required of every mentor. It certifies that you understand the framework itself: its principles, the cognitive development logic that organizes the tiers, screenless facilitation practice, and how learning is observed, evidenced and assessed. No tier certification can be taken without it.

The content axis

The four tier certifications

Each tier certification trains the facilitation that tier requires — not more content, but a different way of standing in the room. A mentor can hold one tier, several, or all four — the foundation is the only certification required of everyone.

Tier 1

Explorers

First contact with STEM thinking

Facilitation is concrete, playful and sensory. The mentor protects curiosity and makes thinking visible through hands, materials and questions rather than answers.

Tier 2

Innovators

From exploring to building

Children begin to iterate: try, fail, adjust, try again. The mentor learns to hold productive frustration instead of rescuing it, and to turn a failed attempt into the lesson.

Tier 3

Leaders

From building to leading

Work becomes collaborative and systemic. The mentor facilitates roles, decisions, disagreement and shared responsibility — and teaches children to see the whole, not only their part.

Tier 4

Creators

From leading to creating

Students take authorship of real projects. The mentor shifts from facilitator to advisor, steps back on purpose, and holds standards without taking the work over.

What you earn

A credential you can verify

Each certification is issued as a verifiable digital credential, so a school, a district or a family can confirm it in seconds — and so a mentor can carry it anywhere.

What a certified mentor holds

What certification is not

Institutional backing

Endorsed by the Silicon Valley Futures Institute

Every KidGeeniers certification is backed by the Silicon Valley Futures Institute (SVFI), the institution that designs and stands behind the program's methodology.

Along the way, mentors earn microcredentials: verifiable digital badges for each competency they demonstrate, which stack toward the full certification.

Who it is for

Who should certify

If you are the adult running the session — or the person responsible for the adults running it — this is your path.

Teachers

Delivering KidGeeniers inside a school.

Authorized Centers

Staff and facilitators running sessions at a Center.

Independent educators

After-school and community facilitators.

School leaders

Directors and district leads who supervise the program.
